Projects 392 Hemi Motor Mounts

    I have been trying to decide on what style of mounts that I wanted to go with. This is what I ended up with.

    Very similar to what I did when I built a 29 sedan back in the mid '90s. Worked great. Kinda hard to see in the pic though.

    Not being en Engineer, you seem to have a lot of stress on the top of the frame with just a little square box that is not under the motor pad,holding up, what 600 pounds?[​IMG]
    I would think you might need a gusset going from the 'pad' area down to the inside of the frame.
    What is that called? Shear forces?

    Yes, shear forces.
    In full dress, (cast exh/intake manifolds, etc.) the listed weight is 765 lbs.
    A single gusset running from under the mount 'pedestal' down the boxing plate would spread the concentration of weight equally across the beam (rail)
    Good suggestion. Also, 'cosmetically correct'!
