390 FE bolt torque needed

    I am going to screw a 390 togather this weekend for a buddie. I need to know torque specs for the rods,mains and heads. Thanks
     
  2. It's been a loooong time since I messed with a Ford FE. But this is what I dug up in my manuals.

    FT./LBS
    1) Cyl. Head Bolts 80 - 90
    2) Rod Bolts 40 - 45
    3) Main Bearing Bolts 95 - 105
    4) Crankshaft Pulley (Damper Bolt) 70 - 90
    5) Flywheel to Crankshaft Bolts 75 - 85
    6) Intake Manifold 33.5
    7) Exhaust Manifold 21
    Ignition Timing 6B TDC
