I mounted and balanced my new tires today and got the 39 back on the ground. Rolled it out and cleaned it up and took some pics. Cant wait to get this thing on the road.

  7. @woodz , did the Posies spring ultimately settle in the rear or did you take additional action? It looks fantastic!

@anothercarguy I took the two smallest top springs and moved them to the bottom of the spring pack (they are basically spacers IMO) and then removed 1 leaf from the top completely.
The spring pack seemed to thick when I first installed it, as in too many springs. The castellated nuts would not thread far enough to be able to install cotter pins. So with one spring gone, it fit perfectly.
I also installed 41 Ford rear shackles which are 1/2" longer than 37-40 rear shackles.
I think the ride height is perfect now, not too low but looks mean.

Curious how far off your chin is from the ground? How about front of running board? Rear? I have similar setup. Your car is amazing.

Wow, it's looking great. I wish my paint looked as good as yours. It's wild how different Cloud Mist Grey looks in different lighting.

Speedway has a lot of choices for 39-40 Posie reverse eye springs. Do you know which ones you bought, have the model number?

@Busmania I have 6" to the front chin and 7" to the front of the running boards, lots of clearance IMO.
@Zax The posies are Front #2040 and Rear # R40L. My front wishbones are not split.

I got the 39 insured and on the road the week. I have put a few miles on it here and there, but not much. Man I love driving this car!
    Cruises beautifully at 65mph
A few bugs to work out yet.
I have a 40 front sway bar I need to install.
I find the lever shocks don't handle the weight of this car very well. I have them on my 30 Model A and they work perfect.
So I ordered the Weedeter tube shock kits front and rear from awesome crew at SOCAL Canada. Hope to get those in soon to improve the ride and handling.
Thinking about making Panhard bars for front and rear as well and a rear sway bar. Try and make it handle as good as possible with stock suspension and bias ply tires :)

    Beautiful color.!
The resistance of the lever shocks can be adjusted and can make a very noticeable difference.

No crazy updates on my 39 really. Just been driving it. Mounted the front sway bar I got off of a 40 coupe. That was a huge improvement to the handling of the car. I think I will figure out a rear sway bar to improve it more. Car is running great. My son and I drive it to Puyallup GoodGuys this weekend and had a blast. Your coupe is awesome! Sorry we didn't get to visit. I was driving my blue 40 coupe this weekend. I see we were parked together in sillyville for awhile.

    Thank you.
Saw you car during registration on Friday and snapped some pics there.
Had to squeeze in front of your car when I saw it parked there in Sillyville. I just love it.

Did you remove the vent windows from your doors or install 39 doors?

They are 39 doors. The 40 door handles were a little challenging to install, and the door edges and gaps needed some adjustments to make it work. It's one of those little things that not very many people notice.
