How do you take the lock apart on a 1939 Chevrolet Truck Glove Box? I have the key and the lock works correctly.

Look on the side of the lock barrel for a hole to compress a spring loaded plunger that retains the cylinder ? I'll go look on the one out back ....

I don't need the lock cylinder out, I need to get the entire assembly out of the glove box door. Somehow the locking part with the spring metal piece comes apart so you can loosen the nut and the assembly will come out.

I figured it out, you insert the key in the lock, turn it counter-clockwise about 1/8 turn and the lock cylinder comes out, then you can unscrew the nut on the back and the entire assembly comes out. Thanks 302GMC.
