Seems like there is a picture thread for everything else.

I think I'm ready to start on my 41 Dodge and need some inspiration.

Post up pics of what you've got or what you've seen.

Here are a few pics I found to start it off

I wanted to buy this panel but money is gone.

Nice truck Drillmastertommy. What mod's did you do? What are you running for engine and drive train? Just Curious.

  10. Other than lowering it with a new front beam and flipped rear axle it's mainly stock, I did make a new oak flatbed for it. Engine wise it's running a 218 flathead 6 with an EDGY cylinder head, dual intake with a pair of 94's and cast Langdon headers finished off with 2" stainless pipes and a pair of Smithy's.

Transmission and rest of the running gear is still stock, I'll have to see how it gets on with our roads here before thinking about any upgrades....

Mine is a lot like yours drillmaster. 218 with Rusty Hope split manifold and running dual B&B's. the stock suspension and a ford 8" rear. get 17-20 on the highway and cruises pretty good at 60-65 mph over that it feels like it's working pretty hard. Still running a stock 3 speed on the floor and am considering disc brake upgrade on the stock axle.

My 39 Plymouth. I bought the truck about half done in 1998. The guy that built it put a Mustang II suspension under it. The bad thing is he used the original Mustang cross member. The way it is made limits one to use all the original control arms and stuts. I plan to start an update soon with a new cross member and all new polished stainless arms. I have already notched the frame above the rearend and installed Chassis Engineering springs. It has a 360 in it now but I'm either going to replace it with a 318 for a bit better fuel mileage or a 354 hemi. If it's a gas hog it better have the looks to go with it. A 354 with a 518 overdrive may not be too bad on mileage. When I start this I have another cab I plan to use. I extended it 6" and chopped it 2". The firewall is ready for the hemi.
I'll shorten the front of the bed 6". The bed is already 2" wider than stock to allow for wider tires. I want to change the front wheels to gasser style spokes and use the open face rear wheels. The fronts are 14" now

As an old Mopar lover and owner I think these trucks are cool. Question: are the headlights originally mounted different on Dodge and Plymouth? Where the Plymouth's lights mounted closer to the nose?

  18. 39 & 40's where mounted closer to the grill...after that they went to the reveal line on the front fenders on the Dodge and Fargo's anyway ..Plymouth I'm not sure about...

Here's some before and after pics of our 39 Dodge. Started out as a 11/2 ton, after 30 years in my barn we decided to build another hot rod.

  21. I was under the impression the headlight mounting points were a year model issue with the earlier models being closer to the hood sides then moved gradually outwards as they realised the design flaw. Even knowing about this flaw my freshly painted headlights get hit by the hood corners when being shut quite regularly!

39 and 40 have the headlights inboard. 41 started the bugeyes.
Bebop has glass fenders listed for both types and agree with this year difference. http://bebops-glassworks.com/site/
Another difference is the door latches. My 39 latches are completely different than some of my spare doors. I don't know if the year change was 40 or 41

Question, are there many or any reproduction parts available for these trucks?

Not too many dodges that's why i'm doing mine! 46 Dodge started life as a 1 1/2 ton farm truck. First mock up with a 48 F1 frame just to see.
Then started on making new frame.
    rear rails- [IMG]
    working on the speed holes-

Got to roll this thing out the garage and do a serious clean up in there! So much grinding dust and metal shavings everywhere.
