    THIS CAR RULES!

Man I'm a victim of my own thread. Now I want to buy another 39-40.

  12. Thanks man! Got a few more things in the works for it. Seats and interior mostly. Come to TROG this year and take it for a spin!

    Thanks!

The color is actually called "Charcoal Grey Metallic", but I like the fact it looks black from certain angles. I did everything but the paint/bodywork...so I can't take credit for that!!...hehehe. It's been a long project so happy to have it close to the finish line! IMG_9647.JPG

  17. My 39 2 owners ago:

Previous owner didn’t like the skirts and taildragger look so he sold the skirts and put a stock spring in the rear. He kept the caps when I bought it so it was nosebleed high with goofy white drums.

I put in a front sway bar, dropped axle and dropped rear spring which brought it down some but I had to add a leaf back to the front spring because the 600 16s rubbed when turning. I may buy 550s someday and lower it a little more. I also added caddy caps and a laundry list of little things that needed fixed or adjusted. Really good driver now.

305 SBC, 39 box and Banjo.

Here it is with the front sheet metal installed. Still have some work to do on the alignment, but at least it's together!

    Hello,

With all of the very cool hot rods in attendance at this inaugural 2017 Lion's Dragstrip Museum Grand Opening Event, this one stood out quite well. If we were to build another 1939-40 Ford sedan, despite the fact that we no longer like black paint, it would have to look like this cool Forty sedan.

Everything about the sedan just called out "hot rod" to all those that walked by and took photos. The event had a lot of AA/Fuel Dragsters plus other drag cars taking part in the classic Cacklefest #2, in the afternoon. So, with all of the distractions, the black Ford sedan still stood its ground as a cool showcase.

That Ford Sedan sure would look good in our small two car garage... ready to take our teenage granddaughter on her first true hot rod cruise...

This is my '39 Standard Mordor. Recent acquisition that I'm slowly working to revive. Need to drop the rear a bit... Screenshot_20220806-185320_Brave.jpg 20220418_130740.jpg

I may do this with a 39 next. The rear fender radius treatment is too cool.

Some beautiful sedans in this post. I sure miss my 39' and is one of the "should never have sold it" cars of mine from the late 60s.

  28. You and I are on the same page. If I can ever get to my '39 I'm considering to replicate this look. I love it.

  29. Honestly I have been fighting doing this to mine for some time, I have a perfect set of pie crusts off my roadster that look so bitchin pushed up next the rear wheels on it!!
