  3. My friend Dan Henke's 40 Standard
    Real deal built in the 1950's hot rod
    324 Olds powered, was flathead powered has had a Olds since 1956
    Last painted in 1959!
    The car had a stock 303 was missing the speed equipment when Dan got it.

    Dan built the engine in the photos first photos, The following engine is a much stronger 324 with the following-

    3x2 Edelbrock intake
    N.O.S. 97's
    N.O.S. Harmon & Collins roller cam
    He also replaced the 40 transmission with a Cad/LaSalle adapted to the torque tube.
    The car now ride on 15" Merc wheels

  6. Dan just found an old Fifties tuck and roll interior someone pulled out of another 40 tudoor. He will be installing soon.

    My 40 standard spent 50 years on display in a Ford dealer showroom in Iowa. Found by KIRK on the Hamb in 2012 and brought to California. The one repaint was done in 1954. I bought it from Mickey Himsl in April 2016.

    Its been a while since I visited this page.
    I now have 20,000miles on the 39 now with a trip last year to Louisiana from Oregon for the Hot Rod Power Tour. 5980 trouble free round trip miles. Averaged 16 mpg!!!!! This picture was taken somewhere in Texas by a fellow participant. Were keeping up with traffic at 80mph! 20160903_220726 (1).jpg

    80 mph! What kind of running gear are you running in that Sedan? Hows the wind noise at 80?

    My 40 has a warmed over 8BA with a stock trans and rear and I can push 85mph easy. I'm assuming someone swapped the rear to highway gears. It was a real nice surprise when I bought the car
