  3. I know I have some more HAMB-appropriate images around somewhere, but can't find them; probably on the other 'puter. If I can find them I'll post them up.

I think this is different and looks cool myself, and you don't see it that much. and I sure don't want an 80s/boyd coddington style billetmobile with all those bells and whistles. just my opinion

that is pretty much the opinion of everyone here as far as 80's cars go---i like 40's on a rake , maybe some flames ---my first car was a forty coupe, taught me to hate flatmotors, had two convertibles and a tudor sedan also a sedan delivery---good luck...

agreed. You just see so many like that and my idea was to sort of deviate away from it. nose high stance, bobbed and radiused rear fenders (I am gonna hack up a used set of glass fenders for this that are the wider type and came off an 80s street rod LOL)with no running boards with maybe hot rod flatz paint. I currently have the original buggy spring front end and have been debating on going with the speedway axle kit. I have a 57 283 and 4 speed for power but want to build a 301 later as funds allow. and the plus side is it could be changed later on just put on the original stlye fenders and running boards. not like hacking the frame and putting in a 70s gm subframe like they did so much in the 80s and some of the geezers in my area are still doing. and plus the fact is most gassers are either Willys or tri fives with falcons and henry js running close second, just an idea to deviate from the norm

there was fast Jerry Moreland's 40 tudor back in the 80s which wasn't a gasser but it was deemed to be "the worlds fastest street rod" back then. I think it had a blown/injected BBC if I remember, more like a prostock style chassis. It strikes a chord with me because I bought the issue of street rodder magazine that featured it back in 85 I believe. It was a pretty strong deviation from what most rodders were doing back then. I don't have a pic of it but I thought it was worth a mention.

One of the baddest and coolest ever. This car, thankfully, promoted the building of many other "overpowered old cars"! I believe these are pics of how it looks now. Check out Modern nostalgia cars thread.

I think this car belonged to Nick Arnell and the pic looks to have been taken at Minnesota Dragways sometime in the early to mid 60's.

I love Gassers but I think that 40's are better suited as hot rods or customs but that is opinion and everyone has one. Street rods and Pro Street cars belong on other sites, another opinion. This is my preference.
