Well fellas... It's certainly that time of year - ain't it? Speed Week is upon us and the H.A.M.B. Drag Nationals is just right around the corner. As such, I figured now was as good a time as any to make an announcement. See, we've been working for a...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
Don't forget to put the SPF85 on your "beans" and armpits, the sun reflects up on the salt. See you there......... Chris Oh yea, the link for the video is not on the "blog". http://www.youtube.com/user/ryan1938 Lack of sleep Oops, there it is below the pix.
I'm still trying to figure out if I can make it to MOKAN, are there rooms still available?? Camping??
I feel like I`m the only one thrashing for the drags, and everyone else is going to play on the salt!!
Quick question, if you are not going to race do you still need to register to get your car into the track for the day?
Watching the Scorpion run in 2006 was the best part of my first HAMB drags trip. Cookies were a very close second. See you at the DRAGS!!!
Beautiful Artwork Mr Norwell....Maybe being a pit crew member on the original Scorpion back in the 50s has made me partial to this car....would have been great to have had Denise sitting in it.as she cackled it in Bowlin Green....Again Beautiful Artwork
Wow!! a member of the original Scorpian crew!! Man how cool is that, thanks for shoutin that out, it gave me goose bumps. Brother Norwell's art work is knock out as usual, two dressers full of "T's" and couple of other piles of same will not stop me from getting this fine art work at the event. My pals helped me with my electrical wiring issues that caused a fire on the way home from Salina, so the worlds fastest 1956 Plymouth Suburban registered to me in Omaha Nebraska will be there making attempts to break our personal best supersonic time of 25.6 secs. We want to warn folks in advance if you are around the car in the pits stand clear when starting it, the giant 2-barrel carb has sucked small children and animals into that torrent of vacumn created by the carb. Fair Warning!! I am so pleased to hear of the music added to the event!! The Rublejetts are one of the coolest rock steady outfits going, I had a "T" of thiers on in Salina and the original artisto H.A.M.B. cat KreaturesCCaustin saw it and commented on it. Putting his art work on the front pan of the Suburban next week, will show it when done. Miss Minor is a kick ass band also. I have a feeling this years drags are going to be one of those "super shows" Can hardly wait, but I will avoid lining up with Lindross's bad ass Valiant again, I am hoping that 40 something Dodge sedan is back, it may be a better match for me!! ~Sololobo~
Group: I am honored to have the Scorpion 1 on the posters and T's. Mr Norwell, you did an excelent rendering of the car. Yes it is an honor to have Bobby Walcott on the board and as a friend and co-conspirator on the Scorpion car. We take him with us as often as we can. I do regret to say that I won't be able to bring the Scorpion 1 to the HAMB Drags this year. I have cut back on long distance travel this year due to heavy work and debit loads. I am nearing completion on the Rat Patrol Dragster for Kenneth Reierson. His sons are both active on the HAMB. The car will be a tribute car to the late Larry LaDue. It is 205 inches in wheel base with a full body and a fire breathing 95% drinking .060" over Chrysler 392. We do plan on a day trip up to Ardmore next month for Rob Raglin's Reunion. Thanks Don Ross
