Anyone know of any specialty salvage yards or where I might find the cowl trim for a 1938 Ford Coupe Deluxe?

That piece of trim would be the same on all 38 DeLuxe bodies.

I know what you mean. I have been looking for several months off and on. If anyone hears about any, I would appreciate your sending them my way.

They can email me at [email protected]

    Thanks

If my memory is correct I have 1 of them. Will look this weekend.

  7. rcasada,

What piece do you mean when you say cowl trim and is there any chance one for a '37 would fit? Any pictures?

FOLLOWUP Looking at some of the pictures posted later I understand what you are talking about. I was confused since the '37 has a pin stripe in the area where your trim goes.

Ive been looking for exterior stainless for a 38 deluxe for 15 years.

  9. Ryan,

If you're missing it all why not look into some "D"-shaped extruded aluminum? I know you're picky about early Ford stuff but it would be better than nothing. Figure out how to bend it without kinking it, install some studs to mount it from the backside, bolt it on & you're in business.

    Or not... just a thought.

The trim in Skidmarks picture is for a '39. The '38 trim is more round shapped. Also be aware that there are a left and right trim for the cowl. They are formed to match the hood opening (cut at an angle) and the side that faces the door is pretty much straight.

I may have found it in Canada. The guy is going to send me pictures. He told me that it was from a 38 deluxe sedan and he had both pieces. As pasadenahotrod pointed out earlier, they should be the same.
I have all the other trim except these little buggers. Ryan, He may have hood trim if your interested, let me know.

  13. The '37 had a pin stripe.

Could not find the cowl trim but do have the passenger side door trim. Has a bend in it. Let me know if you are interested.
