I have no expeirence with engines all i know is what i have read in magazines. This is my first rod but im keen
Welcome to the HAMB! I'll check, I think I have some headgaskets for that engine PM me and I'll return the info tonight. Bob
There's a Hudson social group on here too. Check it out. There is also a pretty good forum for Hudson, Essex, Terraplanes. I forget the name of it, but I know Hudsoncustom would know. They seem cool to hot rodders, which is unusual for an extinct brand.
cheers i will look for those forums. i live in australia i dont think they brought many rhd's here so its hard to find parts at swap meets and the only hudson club i have found is for restorers. They get a bit narky if you say you want to mess with the cars.
Even Hudson dropped that motor for their big six, I think that's the easiest way to get power out of one is by replacing it. Outside of that, most of the usual tricks will probably wake it up a little, but be prepared to spend $$$ to do more than basics. I'm sure there's an Edmunds multi-carb intake out there somewhere that you can put on it, but it may be faster and cheaper to just scratchbuild one than to try to find the Edmunds.
Well, its a splasher, but was used for a long time. My 49 had one originally. More info here... http://www.classiccar.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13
