Mount the body a couple inches higher than your mock up. The "Rudy" truck is slightly lower than would be easy to live with.

Just remember these trucks don't have much room to begin with - might rethink a chop - just my 2c worth

Rudy's truck definitely inspired several other amazing trucks for us to draw from. Fullerton fabrication truck for Hunter speed & Kustom and Laurie Peterson's truck with the slightly shorter bed.

  13. The problem with that idea and those lines drawn is the blue one is about a foot or so lower than the top of the cowl and the black line is about 8 inches lower.
Not to be impolite but the trucks frame sits perfectly level with the ground... and has a 4 inch channel front to back. If you follow all the body lines on these trucks you and see nothing really follows itself and these trucks all have an illusion of a massive rake. They have an angled channel stock. roughly 2 in the front and 4 in the back. So leg room really isn't changing from stock all that much. This is a true aggressive hot rod that I am excited to be a part of. I'm 5'10" and it is very comfy to sit in on a few 2x6s so I am sure it will be that much better with a seat ;)

While still waiting for parts, here's a little sneak peak of the headers. Work in progress.
My man "skunk victim" will not disappoint. My only words were: "Make that 348 proud" ;)

I would like to share my friend + builder "skunk victim" 's T Coupe that was recently featured in the Cleveland Piston powered Auto-Rama.
Feast your eyes. And this is why I have absolute confidence with the outcome of my truck.

That '27 has been one of my absolute favorites for years now. Looks like it got some extra love recently; with all the paint and chrome it looks like a Weesner painting come to life. I'd say your truck is in good hands!

  20. Please don't cut the bed too short. Rudy's truck looked great because the proportions were right. Putting a short bed like a T bucket on these trucks just kills it for me.

    Good job so far.

    Carry on...

Agreed...no T bucket bed promise Lol
It's somewhere between Rudy Rodriguez, Laurie Peterson's Canada custom truck and Billy Gibbons '36 bobber truck bed length. Which is more or less equal to the cab length which once chopped will show the proportions better. Also the motor sits in slightly past the original fire wall, which completes the look imo...

Apparently the pictures don't do it justice and the flake in the red paint is out of this world.
Seeing it for the first time this coming Tuesday. Very excited!!!

  23. Anybody remember seeing Rudy's truck with red wheels. It looked so stupid. That truck was meant for white walls. And the same guy also painted the doors. Down the road the truck went back to Rudy's and he redid it back to the way it was. I hope you run whites on your build here. Sure makes them trucks pop.

You don't like my pics with the white wall tires? ;)
I agree, those wheels didn't do it justice, neither did the colour.

  27. Plow boy I agree with you. I'm a secret hoarder of pink candys. I have around 13 gallons of metal flake corp. pink candy acrylic lacquer. Also have lots of gallons of firemist silver base. I'm painting my wife's 67 Camaro in pink candy. The truck would look awesome fully painted in that color. It looks great the way it is too.

  28. I did look back after I said that and seen your whites. Kickass cool
