37/38 Ford car Windshield regulator question.

It seems that no one reproduces these any more. I'm trying to help a friend in getting his '37 coupe on the road.

My question is this, will any other windshield regulator work from another year around '37 or maybe one from a '37 Ford truck?

check out mid eighties jeep cherokees, iirc they are a straight up and down regulator and fairly small to boot.

 

Windshield regulator is the same for '37-'38 cars and trucks (except cabover truck). I keep a spare in case I ever need it. The spare came out of a '37 coupe and it is identical to the one in my '38 pickup. '39 (last year for roll out windshield) changed to a different regulator that put the knob up on top of the dash. If you wanted to put a '39 dash in it, you could use a '39 regulator.
