I am going to check out some rear fenders to buy, for a friend who has a 38 coupe. Are there any simple steps to identify them from 37 or 39 or sedan etc etc for someone like myself who knows only Model A stuff, Help....

  2. Kinda hard to explain but....

'37 fenders roll right around to the tail pan below the decklid. It is a smooth curve across the back because the fenders & tailpan are essentially the same length.

'38 has "long" fenders & a "short" decklid with a little dog-leg where the decklid ends & the tail pan starts.

'39 fenders extend further than the tail pan (like the '38) but don't have the dog leg.

Below are shots of a '37, '38, & '39. Hopefully they will help.
