36' ford 1 ton questions

I might be lucky enough to get a close to running '36 or '37 ford 1 ton from my dads good friend. I have three questions:

1. Whats the wheelbase?
2. What is the length of the bed? ( I want to see if I can use it to haul other projects around town.
3. How much would it cost to convert mechanical brakes to juice, because he told me that its illegal to run the old mechanical ones appearently?

I'm not of much help to you other than mechanical brakes are not illegal to run in California.
