Follow along as we hop up this cab and give it a bit more attitude. The plan is to swap in a hot rodded 59AB, a five speed and open drive, upgade the brakes and steering, get it closer to the ground with some tried and true suspension up...'er downgrades, swap the rolling stock for some 15 inchers with 5 on 5.5" bolt circle and finish up with a few minor cosmetic repairs. Anybody wanna buy a sweet running stock 36 flathead?
I saw a woman cutting up 1940s tie to make a skirt once ,this gives me the same feeling in the pit of my stomach. Why don't you just sell it to someone as is and buy a modern car?
He's putting a flatty back in. Sounds good to me. You don't have to butcher things up to do what he wants to do. I drive by there all the time but I've only seen it from the back side. Always hoping something cool is rolled out back.
I'll have lots to report on this in a few days as we're wrapping up the last details and sorting through the pictures we took along the way. Right now the car is about 3/4" higher on the right than the left. It may have been that way before but, now it's more noticeable since it has been lowered several inches. What's the best way to correct this on a car with buggy springs on both ends?
Let some air out of the tire on that side..... Sorry I couldn't help myself Not knowing how you lowered it, check to make sure the center bolt hasn't broken and allowing the spring pack to shift if you haven't already.
