I wanted to share some progress on a car I've been working on (off and on) for the last few years. It started as a kind of tired old stocker/confused high school hot rod of sorts and is slowly being transformed into a tidy custom. My buddy Brandon at East Bay Speed & Custom chopped it a couple of years ago and it has since been shuffling back and forth between my shop and most recently, the upholstery shop. I just got it back today after quite a long stretch at the upholstery shop, so I'm falling back in love with it again. The paint is old and has its imperfections but shows pretty well. Brandon just spotted in the roof where he worked so I can drive it around a while. The plan is to cruise it for a year or two, then have it painted properly. My intention isn't necessarily to start a build thread, but I may update this as I go along. I did write a series of articles that I posted to my site that tell the story to date pretty well. The first deals with how I found and bought the car to begin with. Then three stories about my journey with East Bay while chopping it, the last of which is just dozens of photos of the chop process itself. Most of my site and corresponding podcast are dedicated to sharing reader and listener-submitted hot rod stories, but I do occasionally post my own stories. They are in order below: Estate Sale - 1936 Ford 3 Window Coupe – ironandsteele EAST BAY SPEED AND CUSTOM PART-1 – ironandsteele EAST BAY SPEED AND CUSTOM PART-2 – ironandsteele -POSTSCRIPT- EAST BAY SPEED AND CUSTOM – ironandsteele If you don't want to do that, here is the short version. Thank you, a lot of thought went into that profile. It makes or breaks a chop on these cars. I appreciate it. ironandsteele.com
