Usually with such tin work - the paint can't help. Not this time, great looking paint and color to go with a great looking body. Wow.
holy crap! i skipped from page one to page 17....what a difference! i feel guilty now...i have to go back and see the whole process. good work and that car looks amazing.
WOW... that looks so great. You must feel very good Chrisp... seeing it finally in paint. Cant wait to see more photos of it completely finished.
I think Bugs (the owner) chose the perfect color for it. It's a Root Beer but don't know if it's custom mixed or not. The car is in the upholstery shop, so this is finally the end of this build. Hope to see it completly done soon too.
Have been following this thread from the start and I have mixed emotions, I thought it would look great & the metal work deserved to be in boring gloss black to show it off but I must say that is the second best color! It is refreshing to see someone step out of the black box. Ready to start another one?
nice job... hope to see more of your builds Chrisp now your living in france you still work on cars??
congrats Chris, That rootbeer color is really nice and make that ride look very classy indeed. Great job and keep doing what your doing, your amazingly talented when it comes to fabrication and style! cheers, cab
That is an absolutely magnificent build. Please post more photos once final assembly is complete. A couple of the finished interior would be appreciated too. I love that dash.
Wow!!! Could be one of the koolest '35 I've ever seen. We've talked about this build for a while and can't wait to see the finished pictures..... Kongrats on the progress... Happy Trails, Mick
i just read every page of this thread and everytime i saw a new a picture i felt like a kid on christmas opening up a bad ass new hotwheels or something. This car is absoutly stunning. The flow and lines are just rediculous.
Anyone have pics of the interior handy? Bugs, the owner designed it himself, and it looks great. It was done by Dave Martinez. Bugs also designed and had the knobs in the car custom made. He can also design and make some super cool knobs for your rod or custom.
Oh shit. I followed this thread until Chrisp moved O.S. Then I saw pics of the the car at GNRS. Just never realised that car was this car. Absolutely stunning. Especially when you refer to page 1. Interior shots PLEASE Pete
It's absolutely unreal in person...I had lost track of the build after I saw it in primer...then at the GNRS I noticed the tail lights and had a "no f*cking way" moment... I noticed that there weren't any before shots of the 3W that he started with in the build book...if the show-goers only knew...
hey man check out carnuts posts he basicly bringing a sedan back to life with a nice chop and custom work you have done well
Chris did an amazing job on the metal work of this car! The sad irony is that he left Hollywood Hot Rods and the U.S. before it was done and has never seen it in it's finished state in person! CHRIS - I wish you could see it (or drive it!), it would make all of those frustrating days feel justified! Any chance of coming back to visit? There is a ton of stuff that we did that you haven't seen (steel dash, Pullmax stamped window moldings, wood graining, interior, etc). PM me with an email address and I will send you pics. You should feel proud. By the way, Hollywood Hot Rods was named Builder of the Year at the GNRS, you were a big part of that! You worked on 5 of the 6 cars in our display, thank you! It got AMAZING response at the show, everyone loved it... if they only knew. It did not win first place.... it was build to drive, and doesn't have chrome undercarriage, turntable display with dancing clowns, etc, etc things that go with car show B.S. Will try and post interior pics.. it is beautiful! These pics are from setup day on Wed at the GNRS in the Hollywood Hot Rods booth. Thank you for posting them!
I would definitley love to see some interior shots as well. This is one of the nicest customs build in the last couple of years!! Love it.
Totally amazing ..... I would have NEVER figured that this car was that original poorly chopped mess. Fantastic. Paco
