Here's my friend and HAMB member Therein1951's 35. It's been on the road since the 70's:

  6. Posted this on the abandoned rod thread, but I dragged this homely pup home yesterday.

Built in NC in '59, it was last inspected in '67. Had some kind of SBC, (that blew up in '67 and it was parked), 3 speed with Sparkomatic style shifter, and late model rear on parallel leafs. Held in by welded u-bolts and channel frame reinforcements!!

Cool blue an white R&P interior, that might be salvageable, with a Chevy radio and accessory gauges under the dash. Remnants of the ribbed white vinyl running board covers. Has 40 steering, column and hydraulics. 49 Plymouth wagon bumpers front and rear.

Thinking that I might just throw in another SBC, I'm having second thoughts with the caveman engineering. Maybe go back to a flattie, three speed and banjo rear.

Wonder why those old boys couldn't have found a coupe or roadster?
Taking inventory of what can stay or go. Maybe it will be possible to save this orphan.

^ Do you have any pictures of the Ute as a done car? I'd like to see that; it certainly looks very nice.

No photo of finished ute yet, went back to owner for wiring and trim and final fit up. Should get to see it in a few weeks. Will get a photo then.

Any cabriolet owners who have done their chrome framed windows ? Got a question about the door side window channels. Thanks

I love the look of black wall tires.
Here is mine on the dyno. I had to change the fuel pump since it was getting too lean at higher RPM's. It came alive with the new pump!
