Chevrolet fans should keep their 283's for their own cars. Why phuck up yet another Ford?

I would leave the perfect stance alone... only way to improve on it would be tail-dragging.. and I don't have the feeling you would go that route...
More forward rake will not improve the looks of this great looking car...
    But thats just my opinion.

I agree with the SBC - but not changing the stance. It is perfect.

Here's mine as it sits right now. There's now weight in the front so you can expect a little more up there. I am trying to figure how I can get the back down another inch though. Engine should be in there by Sept. 1st.

Does anyone know if 35 Fords went from smooth cowl sides to stamped ribbed cowl sides in mid production?

Early and some mid year production 35's had a smooth slightly convex cowl side. Most later 35's and all 36's had the X stamped to stiffen the pannel.

35's had a rope style sealer for the hood to rest on all along the top and sides of the cowl. In 36 this rope was only used on the top of the cowl and the lower sides received rubber bumpers.

info from: The 35 36 Ford book by the Early Ford V8 club of America.

Yeah, a bad haircut on a 3 window is no bueno!

Ive got a great article in the May 2004 Streetrodder of Marcel Deley chopping a 3 window in PDF format, if you're interested.

Might also have extra roof sections too, if you went with this kind of chop.

Thanks guys. I actually like the way it sits right now but once that weight gets on the front rails I feel like it'll have too much rake so I Think the rear should come down a bit.

And thanks Searcher for the compliments on the Firewall. First time doing body work!

Mine's been back from paint for about a month and a half.

    Things are moving along OK.

    The windows were time consuming.
