Bought a kinda finished 34 Ford couple of years ago. Beautiful 3 window body with a TCI frame. Did some stuff to make it drivable and personnelize it. Got tired of the 350/350 combo and am installing a 383/tremec 6spd. magnum. Problem is the engine installed angle was about 8 degrees. I had adjusted the rear pinion angle to match. But with this install I would like it better. It has a beautifull stock floor and I could cut out the center and put in a large tunnel so I could raise the rear of the tranny? Lower the motor mounts which could create interference problems with suspension parts? Or just leave it at 8 degrees, being that it is a finished car? Your thoughts?
Pretty standard 3 window on a TCI chassis, no chop, filled roof. Just installed the new combo and measured the angle with my new digital angle gauge, which says I have 4.7 degrees down. Is this normal for cars like this? I have tried to keep the car more old school and being a finished car, I kind of have limits. Is butchering a real nice stock floor blasphamy? I will have to fab a new tunnel over the trans. As is now if I raise the tranny up anymore I would have drive shaft clearance issues with the rear part of the floor.
