Hot Rods 34 ford 3w made entirely from junk!

The new slide, with no visible slide mechanism. I am so stoked that this worked. Now to line the hood up, hinge the decklid and tear it apart , so i can get it running!

 

That roof is beyond sick!

 

Finally got the decklid welded up and hinging. I am pretty happy with my little
Trunk space.

 

You are an Artist too...one of those that has a canvas in your head controlled by yer eyes and all that's in between...Go Jim Go!!

 

New sliding roof configuration is amazing! Imagine the dropped jaws when someone is next to you at a show and you slide that bad boy open!!!

 

That is kinda the theory behind the sliding roof. I want a really nice , clean salt flats style car, and then the roof slides back and wham.

 

Birthday party appearances could be a money maker.

 

A good friend and fellow car guy passed away and we are all getting together kinda like a car show in honor of him tomorrow, so i stepped away from the car and cleaned up my 34 chevy, drove it down to my work, and i will drive it to his memorial in the mourning. Some things are more important than progress.

 

Gawd that thing is badass. I never get tired of looking at it.

The show and memorial went well, 200 cars showed up. I asked my kids friend to take pics, he only shot my cars. Oh well, heres a couple of pics, but enough of that, back to work! Theres cars to be built!

 

Not a lot of time for the car, but I did get the radiator mount mocked up, and I ran a brake line for an edge on the hood, just to stiffen it up and give it a finished look.

 

The work you are doing on this car is amazing.

Make it a fitting sister to my other 2 cars. Kinda like the three musketeers of the wild 60s car culture. So far it has been so much fun to build, i am very excited about it.

 

Early Cessna steering wheel, check! My dad would be so proud .

 

Back in the 1960's we'd build AMT kits to look like these cars, great to see them in real life.

Check entering/exiting with that yoke, it looks like 'straddling' it would be painful!

 

I can get in and out. Im glad i left the car full width. I am a pretty small guy, that helps.

We're all waitin' for another update...

 

I have been pulling 80 + hour weeks at work. Not a lot of time for the car. My hope is to get it roughed out a little better, and pull it down over the winter and get it running. We will see.

 

Work? I vaguely remember being young enough to have a job where I went to work daily. If you ever retire you'll love it. Oh, well; whenever you have progress to report please do so.

 

I am almost done getting a model a ford put together for a friend, and then i should be back on it. I will post as soon as i get anything worthy of posting.

 

How about a fuel tank made from a b17 breathable air tank?

 

Updates are slow. I am way busy at work, but today I had enough time to build one side of the headers. Its going to be loud! Keeping with the theme of the build, all of the tubing used on the header was sourced from the original roll cage that i changed out in my austin healey . A little thick for headers, but i had it, so I used it.

 

I really like how the headers look, especially since they were made from scraps and only took a few hours to complete.

Just a little update. Got the other header done, pulled the body up, and next comes making it run without its skin.
