Enjoy the Journey Gas...I know I am...I can't wait to see you sitting in that 3/4 pic as Your Dad did...The Ram looks ready for the charge and that interior looks Hotrod...do drop by as things progress as they do...no pressure just a big thumbs up...thanks for sharing...
in one of your earlier post to mention tires. Luckily this weekend Coker is running a 20% off special. I did order a set a fire stones with a 3 inch white wall. Also in one of your earlier posts you mentioned a drawing of my dad sitting in the car. Take a look at this drawing that my stepdaughter gave me for my birthday. It’s an Ed Tillrock drawing of the picture I posted earlier. I really appreciate the support and encouragement I’m getting from you and others on this board thank you.
...Gas, that's the Image and an Artwork of Same Priceless...Ed nailed it...nice gift too Pops......I am sure your Dad was High on Hotrod at that moment...thanks always for sharing this journey...
@GasGas300 it's fantastic looking at what you have accomplished...you're doing a stellar job...Nice Hotrod...again you are very fortunate to have had the stars align as they have... I feel a little awkward asking but is your Dad still with us?...I've went through the Thread twice looking for a mention but found none...I know regardless he would be moved by you're bringing his pavement pounder back...
Love this! I was afraid you were going to unchannel it and lose the '32 grille!! Thanks for keeping your pop's original vision!
Sadly he passed away about six months after I found the car but before I was able to make a deal with the owner. He was getting some dementia problems but he did remember the car and saw some pictures. I wish I would of been able to discuss the car with him more.
Mine is channeled like that. About 6"!!! Wish it wasn't, but that's the way it came, so i'm leaving it. At least yours isn't chopped. Mine is kinda snug inside.
Two and a half years after I started this it rolled out of the shop under its own power. First time in 60 years. Still a few things to tighten up on but it runs and drives!
Congratulations on this incredible milestone @GasGas300...how's it sound? It looks really Sharp...looking forward to more pics...2021s gonna have some memorable moments for you without question...well deserved...
Thank You Stogy. It sounds really good. Planning on going to as many local car shows as possible this summer. Zoom into the older picture. I have several old pictures from when my dad had the car. Thanks for your encouragement along the way. I appreciate it.
That was a treasure to find for sure. You should be real proud of the way it turned out, that thing screams "Hot Rod"! That third pic up there with the great scenery behind the car needs to be a pic hanging on your wall. Great job!
Looks like Dad got the Ole Lowrider Stuck...waiting for some heave ho... @GasGas300 keep those vintage pics of dads intermingled with your resurrected greatness coming...love that Hotrod... Ya done real good...
Hows stepping back in time with the memories Gas?...such a great story and it can't get any better than having the Hotrod your Father whipped around in...you must have most things delivering the goods by now...please share some recent pics of it...quite the monster I'm sure... Happy New Year @GasGas300...
Josh, welcome to the Hamb...it's actually a 34 with a 32 Rad, Shell and Grill... This was a common thing in Hotrod thru the 40s, 50s and 60s... Many like it, many don't, regardless it's a mod that's arguably Traditional.
So cool that you found your dad's coupe, I love family heirloom cars. I found this '33 5w Chevy that was purchased used by my great grandfather in the late '30s, here's a pic of his son my Great uncle Jim with the car after I dragged it home (this was about 12yrs ago). It was his hotrod as a kid and he couldn't believe I found it:
