Posted them on page 2 but they didn't expand for some reason. These should get bigger. Original intake, drilled for 4 or 3 bolt carbs. Will be going with some 2" risers and frogmouth scoops.

Progress a little slow but been making some other moves. Picked up a 303 olds for another build later on. Also say goodbye to the 6x2, someone paid handsomely for it.

I’ll drop this as a teaser for what I'm picking up later on this week for this build:

@sawbuck how much is yours channeled and chopped? Any pics of the inside you can share? A chop and shortened bed has been haunting my mind.

thanks! Mine is channeled roughly 4-5”, been playing in photoshop by shortening the bed to 50” and a 4” chop. Looks proportionally right. Its a wild look for sure. This pickup has a 49" box and 5" chop, no channel and on a 32 frame/wheelbase so the box distance between the cab and fender is longer here.

i think ona 34 frame the distance from cab to fender is longer than a 32 ....that looks like a 34 frame ?

One of the things I love about the in-progress mock-up pics from post 61 is that if the final look/shape/proportions were to be taken from there - there's both restraint and it looks wild. It's a balancing act.

10000% agree, in my mind the end goal is for it to look absolutely wild but never goofy. It shouldn’t be cartoony nor stray too far from as if it was actually built in the 60s. Hence the addition of early sbc intake and 471 setup

Finally got the blower home. Now to figure out pulley sizes to underdrive if enough to get around 5lbs of boost so I don’t grenade the motor hahah. Pulleys I got with it are 32 and 34 tooth and the larger bottom pulley is 38 tooth. I believe I have to be in the -6% ratio range so either a new top or bottom pulley will be needed. I need a belt and a water pump pulley so maybe I can just find a whole kit.

You'll never be happy until you get one. Trust me, I know. I tried to justify the 6x2 cool factor vs. the blower. Then you hear a blower and you say F the 6x2, give me the whine! Then your mind goes in the direction of, you can always throw a 6x2 on top of a blower.....

apparently this rear cover is super rare. Cleaned it up a bit real quick

Blower and manifold were polished at some point, nice and smooth just dirty with some pits. Will polish it as is, will go with the vibe of the truck. One side was hit with some polish and a wheel no sanding. Other was how it started.

Painted the short block and valve cover tops today. Gold flake it is! Little hard to get a good pic but the valve covers really show it off.

Well I couldn’t help rough mocking it up after it dried and tearing off the tape. I also have a chrome water pump and pulley, finned fuel pump block off plate. Deciding between Rochesters or strombergs before I buy a top plate but you get the idea. Was debating painting the aluminum heads gold but I’m liking it. The meticulous side of me wants to remove the ‘promaxx’ engraving from the heads.

Yea I've thought about it a lot. It's lightly engraved, any suggestions how to remove it? I've been thinking of just hitting it with some sandpaper but once you start I have to finish. They are very nice so it kind of pains me to start messing with.

One more little detail thats been bugging me off the list. Came off super easy, 240 grit removed the text. Then sanded all the way up to 2000, polished and done. One on the left isn’t scratched, some leftover polish compound I guess I missed until I looked at the pic.
