I am getting my original non chopped garnish mouldings chromed. There is a small gusset at the front of the door mouldings that if removed would make a better job of the chroming. Should I remove or make the extra effort to try to get that area prepped for chrome? Platers say it would not be finished as nice in that area with them there.
Go with your platers recommendations. They'll be able to tell you what to expect. Sometimes it's tough to get a good throw on chrome in tight corners. Is this their concern or is it a matter of sufficient space to prepare/metal finish the corner? Maybe pull the gusset, prepare the metal then tack the gusset back in place prior to chroming...
