3 inches looks right on the money as far as a chop on that one goes. I like the idea of dropping the back window opening down close to the style line and not taking so much out of the window it's self loosing a lot of it's shape.
Now if we could just get some guys to read all the way though a thread before answering with a comment that isn't actually relevant anymore.

  2. I havent seen a rear window really quite look right on a chev with a 3 inch chop , is why I asked to see how it looks with an 1 1/2 chop
Not sure if I will chop my 3 window yet , but have saved a few rear windows to use if I do the chop .

I tried to keep the full window. But it just won’t work it starts to get into the rounded top. I considered finding a donor window more uniformed in shape. If I had to do it over I probably would. The Chevy window was definitely tricky

  4. Really nice looking car bighead , can kinda see the rear window thru the car , I think only taking an 1 1/2 thru the window looks better.,from what I can see .

I've own this since 1972. Chopped 3 1/2" in the frt, and just 3" in rear. Cut in the center of A& B pillars, and center of C pillar to center to very center of rear window opening. I 'll search for pics, but it was a long time ago. (EDIT) I might add that I stretched the roof about a inch or so just above where the wing window should be. Mine is a 35 STD

  10. Just my opinion, but too much chop on these tend to make them look too long. Would think 2 1/2- 3" would be just about right. Buddy of mine had one of these in the 80's and was missing the tailpan. Got one at a swap meet and when we got home is when we figured out he had a Mercury series as the pan was too wide and had to be sectioned to fit.
