  1. I would give one of my coupes to my son if he reacted the way you did when your Dad gave you the 33 Doll. As it is, I will probably end up selling them.

    Your aunt's name was Dolly?
Gosh... "Dolly" is such a perfectly sweet name for your car.

Congratulations on getting a great family heirloom! I owned a black, chopped, '33 Tudor for 26 years. IMHO, the most beautiful car Ford built. Get it going, keep it going, drive the shit out of it, hand it down. I bet that's what Aunt Dolly and especially Dad would want.

Congratulations! ‘33 Tudor, what a great car! Nice story behind it too. I’m sure it’s in good hands now, more good times ahead. Keep us up to date as you get her back together.

Great car with a cool family history to go with it. I like your plans for it.

I sure hope whatever seat is in there is temporary, clearly did not have that seat in the period pics.

    Cool ride. Try different variations of 33DOLL for the plates;
    30T3DOLL
    DOLL33
    DOLL3T3
    3T3DOLL
LLOD33...so they can read it in the rear view mirror.;)

Do you have the grill, hood, and radiator? If so, it looks like you're a Saturday from cruising. Very cool!

    Sweet! Twins!
    Awesome!
That’s pretty much how I’m gonna do it up! Except my Patina is really bad, second paint job in the 70’s Black lacquer like original, but it checked cracked the first few years, then started flaking off, almost all the way in spots, so I’m gonna blend fake patina into the real patina, we will see what happens!

    UPDATE:
I happened to make a friend at the California to the DMV believe it or not! Told her the story of my aunt and everything, how the plates are gone yada yada, and we came up with a plan of how to get the plates again, basically my dad had to pretend that he had one that was damaged, so we could order a new one, ended up getting two so waiting for them to come in the mail we shall see!

Nice car and pleased that you are doing it your way !

(Also re license plate , if you can’t get a ‘33 Dolly, you can put that somewhere else on the car, or have a fake plate made for shows etc ).

    9 MONTHS LATER!!
a woman could of got pregnant and gave birth, for how long the Good old Ca. DMV took!!!!
NOW I go back to the DMV.... show them the plates, tell them Im keeping them....then I can get it off of “Non-op”
Get it out of my Pops name....Transfer the title to my name.... THEN put it back on “Non-OP in my Name.... then the registration will come once a year.... and if its running I just pay the fees and they will send me the tags.....” Whew!”
And that for you out of state folks is how our wonderful CA. DMV Works!
So far I have been there 3 times, just to get this far!!! Just the DMV alone os a good enough reason to leave this Damn state!!! UGHGGG!!!!! GGRRRH!! $&@$! Adjustments.JPG
