I acquired a sbc 327 and can't find the suffix code any where the last three digits are bAU and yes the b is lower case on the block. Has anyone ran into this???

the only 6AU suffix that I can find refers to a marine block from 1986 with 350 ci and labeled "industrial" Notice that it is a 6 and not a b

pictures help. And the numbers on the back of the block, cast into it, look for a long number and a smaller date code with a letter followed by a few numbers (such as K 22 7)

the thing with the suffix....what is the rest of the stamped code? and is there a partial VIN stamped, and if so, what is it?

I agree. Never came across a car/truck 327 with that sort of number. Also like squirrel says check the casting number and casting date.
