I have a 1967 327 chevy out of a 67 nova. The oil sending hole is not 1/8" pipe thread .It seems to be metric w/ finr threads. Was thinking it could be a canadian block. Any ideas
Never seen a small block that was not 1/8 NPT. You sure there is not some kind of adapter fitting in the block? Even Mexican blocks are 1/8NPT.
g,day from oz , that seems strange , i have a 327 in my pontiac parisienne which i am told comes from canada and it is NPT thread , i work in a hydraulic shop and i sell heaps of brass adapters for chevy's and they are nearly all NPT , have you tried to fit a BSPT plug / threaded adapter to check if it isnt tapped out to bspt . AS bspt will go into NPT , but NPT wont screw into bspt , I hope i havnt confused you , let me know how you go , cheers bundy
Pipe thread is pipe thread...there is no metric You probably just have some damaged threads, get a tap and run through it Canada did not go to the metric system until the 70s...Even then, the auto companies were slow to change things.
