    Hey all
I need to change fuel pump on 322, it has the vacuum on bottom type fuel pump. Question, do I need top replace with sdame type of fuel pump or can i do one without the vacuum?

What is the supplied vacum going to? Can you live without it?

On most cars so equipped, the vacuum portion of the pump was there to supplement engine vacuum for a more consistent operation of the windshield wipers. Typically, when accelerating or pulling hard, on a long hill for example, manifold vacuum decreases and so does wiper operation. The pump minimized that problem.

If you'd rather have a fuel pump without the vacuum pump on it, look for an AC #4297. They were used on Buick nailhead powered medium duty Chevy trucks.
