Thinking of putting Fenton headers in my gennie '32 frame.

It's got an 81A flathead and I have an F-100 steering box in the factory position with a Vern Tardel aluminum wedge between the frame & box.

Does anyone have this exact setup and if so do the Fenton headers fit??

Contact RonnieRoadster . Short answer is no, but like anything , if you want to make them you can. But if you look at the advertising material, they were never ment to fit he did is

not a very good picture but I made my own. I know that Reds headers makes a set for this application. I don't think that the cast iron Fenton's will work. It's tight back there but it's doable.

  4. Ed,
What exhaust are you running now? I will be in the same situation.

Here's what I have now, tube headers and I cut the LH header in half and fabbed up some pipes to behind & under the box.

These leak around the flanges on both sides and sound tinny. Even though I have retightened them.

Red's headers makes headers for this app but, they will not work if you are using the Vern Tardel wedge. Even then the Red's headers are so close to the F100 box that the heat transfer heats up the gear oil in the box and it starts to leak out. a friend of mine has those on his '32 and the box is always leaking when it gets hot.

The answer is yes, but you need to remove the wedge spacer and do as shown below.
