I have a 32 Ford 5 window coupe United Pacific body and need the trunk latch/handle assembly complete. I looked and Bob Drakes site looks like they have the components. Since I have never installed one of these assemblies I am seeking any suggestions on parts and installation. I know I have to drill a thru hole in the deck lid so I want to get it right the first time.

When I did mine I first installed the latch then found a drill bit that just fit thru the square handle hole in the latch and drilled into the metal just enough to make a good mark on the outside skin, removed the latch and finished the job. Probably not the way many would do it but it worked for me.

  3. Gary, I did basically the same thing with the exception of using a snap punch tool to make the location of the holes. HRP
