Hot Rods 32 Ford Roadster Upholstery

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by qmdv, Nov 21, 2018.

  1. I am getting close to the upholstery faze of my highboy build. This car is pretty traditional. 59AB block, 39 trans and a 36 ish rear end. Since I graduated from high school in So Cal in 1963 I want this highboy to be sort of era traditional.

So question is if a kid had the money back then I am assuming he would have this car upholstered with some sort of tuck and role. What would a typical pleat width be back then. Back then you would drive down to Tijuana.

Some pictures would be great if available

I graduated in'62 in So Cal. Some went with 1" in TJ but 1.25 or 1.5" pleats was common for Martinez.

What Deuce said, 1 to 11/2. but 3'' was seen some too. In a roadster I like 3'' because it isn't as busy.
