Still in mock up stages but I am shure someone in hamb land has overcome this situation. Factory deuce frame with a halibrand open qc what spring and rear crossmember could I use to clear the rear under the factory bed. I am thinking mounting the spring on top, like a model a May be the way but the frame is curved where the crossmember would have to mount in order to retain the factory wheel base. Not shure if I like that. Is there another curved rear spring that can give me the height to clear the rear? Any pictures would shure be swell. Thanks in advance.
Bite the bullet and use a Model A rear spring and cross member behind the rear with a nice cover in the box. Looks best and sits right. Refer to a build on here by rob bob in which he shows the cover he made in his 32 box. Neat and tidy. I did do a pickup chassis with a QC using Posie 1/4 elliptic springs and ladder bars which allowed me to put a straight tube behind the rear far enough for adequate clearance. 2004 NSRA giveaway RPU.
Oooooo shiny,I would have to sell a kidney to afford all that chrome, but boy it looks swell. Parallel leaves are not on the agenda, trying to stay with a buggy spring. Thanks for the heads up on rob bobs build,I'll take a peek at that.
These are photo's of the '32 frame Bass did and used a Model A rear cross member with a Quick change rear. HRP .
I used a T crossmember and spring once ... Put it right against a floor in a 32 and put the wheels about where they should be
No sorry , it was 15 yrs ago , I'm new to this whole digital thing , I used to take film pics back then
Just finishing a chassis for my 32 pu using a Winters V8 QC with A rear cross member and Posie narrow R&T A rear spring. I'm fairly sure I will have to put a blister in the bed. If you wanted no hump in the bed I did a customer one recently using the same Winters rear with coil overs.
