Hot Rods 32 Ford frame w/40 rear what shocks?

I've got the 40 ford rear end installed in the 32 frame with 32 rear crossmember and 40 spring. I want to use some houdaille shocks and I'd like to know which ones will work in this application. I had tube shocks with the 32 rear end but I don't want to use them with the 40 rear.

 

I would suggest either Model A or '32 shocks and rear arms. You will have to fabricate a mount on the '40 rear to replicate the link ball that is on the '32 rear.

 

Any big issues installing that '40 rear end?

 

I used what I think are 40 REARS (small diameter) on both the front and rear of my 32.
The links are commercial truck with opposing studs. They fell in to place
I drilled the holes in the frame to fit, as a p.o. had welded up the originals.
I angled the arms uphill a little to center the travel.
Rearend is 37 with 37 spring in 34 crossmember.
