Hot Rods '32 Ford cowl vent

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by sidevalve8ba, Mar 10, 2011.

  1. I need some help. I am putting a '32 pickup together and I don't have quite everything I need to make a functioning cowl vent. The bad thing is I'm not sure what I am missing. I need a picture or diagram to make some sense of it. Can anyone offer some assistance?

    Thanks,

I have no pictures but I will caution you that there are more than one Deuce cowl vent lids. I thought that they were all the same. The size is the same but the angle is different on the mounting flange underneath which will affect your hardware. I don't know if the 33-34 trucks are different or not. I bought one to replace a heavily pitted one but it did not match my hardware.

  3. That's good information. This vent lid I have fits the hole just fine but I bought a gasket for it from ? and it's a bit too long. I guess what I'm having a problem with is where does the ratchet arm attach?

Hi, I have a 32 fors sedan that I am trying to install the cowl vent hardware. Is there a bracket I can purchase that the spring goes to, where it attaches to the vent or do I make that attachment.
