Very nice work! You mention centering the rear wheels in the rear fenders, seems a lot set just a bit too far forward which is not visually helped a bit by the swoop line at the back of the fender. Can you let us in on the specifics as to your way of doing it? I've figured that I would have to mock the fender to the rail and then move the rear end/spring/xmember until it looked good then tack the xmember. If you have a tried and true measurement I'd love to hear it! Thanks

Thats an OLD frame table my father used to use. It was made from the beams under a house trailer... ha

Thats exactly what we did. The owner of this chassis and I spent hours mocking up different setups to get stance and wheel base right, then tore it all apart and through it up on the table.

Thanks everyone for the nice things said, I will post more pics when I get back on this project. I am ready to mount the power plant, but its not in the shop yet, and I have a few other projects around the shop that need my attention. The owner of this project, a good friend of mine, has a bad little 32 roadster he is concentrating on as well, taking up most of his focus. I can maybe talk him out of some pics in the near future.

well..its been a while, I have a free week, and the owner of this project had some time to bring the powerplant over... as well as the firewall. Its just sitting in there for now, will make mounts and all that in the next few days.

Few more, this chassis, as most, takes on a whole new life with a mill in place...

Last pic for today... decided to go with some RED's Headers... simple, and no need to "re-invent the wheel"... they should work just perfect

crossmember had to be notched, and trimmed to blend into the mounts and clear the crank, pulley etc. The idea is to make it looking like one crossmember with mounts and such all in one....

few more... you can see it all tacked together here... the mounts will be welded to the crossmember in front and polished smooth, in effort to look like a one piece deal... the notch "trim" will be welded, and left raw... to look as though it was an actual "modification"... Mounts will be welded solid to the boxing plates ofcourse.

Well thats it for tonight... hopefully you can see where I am going with this... a one piece type crossmember with incorporated motor mounts, will be easier to see once welded, sanded and polished.

What's so cool is that all of the hand made stuff on this chassis doesn't look hand made at all. It all looks like it was stamped out 70+ years ago and was meant to be that way. Awesome.
