Thanks man.... have not worked on this much this week, working on trying to get the 50 out, but that has had a few set backs.

I have a little project this weekend for this customer that owns this 32, he has a roadster he is just getting ready to paint, and well, the chassis has a few details I will be giving some attention.

    thanks again!

No, not since those, I will be getting back on to this project this week. The coilover covers are for the same customer, different 32.

Needed to put hole in front boxing plate to accomodate the f-100 steering...but didnt want to just leave it, just threw together a simple cover we can half-ass polish to match rest of the vintage aluminum through out.

I like looking at deuce chassis', and this one is super nice. Especially like the rear cross-member/rail gussets you fabb'd up.

What do you use to strip the mill scale off the metal before welding? Or are you using cold rolled?

Most of what I used on this, is HRPO (hot rolled pickled in oil).

Just alot of grinding fitting and sanding before the welding even starts.

At the risk of being redundant, beautiful work. Viewing this kind of work really humbles an amateur like me. You must love going to work every morning!

Great thread , interesting take on a traditional theme . I do leave the longer leaves in on the rear as they help support the main leaf & prevent the potential for breaking the main leaf, just an observation . I have to pull my Deuce roadster apart for paint soon , this is inspiration to detail & not hurry it along , which is a temptation on your own car I find.
Keep up the good work & cool pix.

What was the reason for using a model A rear crossmember?

    Thanks again guys...

The Model A crossmember and spring is used to provide proper clearance for the Quickchange rear end.

If you can locate a place near you that does " vapor degreaseing " it will pull contaninates out of the pores that are not accessable by liquid surface type cleaners. Nice work, will be following the build.
