Projects 32 Ford 5 window... FINISHED PICS

Looks great so far! I'm following along to see how the chop turns out, no doubt it will be perfect.

 

Hot Rod Flatz. I used Wizard detailer for flat paint that works great - very low shine sheen.

 

Here is a pic of the lower rain gutter trough that Nelson made. Nelson is one of Henry's workers, a very talented young man, he also made all the floor panels in the car. Henry is getting ready to chop the top next so I am not going to go see the car for 3 weeks or so. I will post pics when it is done. I will try to get Henry to send me some in progress pics so I can post them.

 

Henry just sent me this teaser pic. Won't send anymore til I go see him later this week.

If he is serious, I just don't understand why people have to be a dick on someone else's thread. If he is joking then never mind.

 

In my old age I find myself hiring more work done while doing less myself. I never have had any body shop abilities even though I did paint a few and while I did the upholstery on several of my cars I like the job the professional does better. I'd rather concentrate on building customer chassis and use the profits from that to have some of the tasks I don't enjoy as much anymore done by a professional. My wife can still push a vacuum but she sure is enjoying the Shark Robot I got her. John: While you enjoy doing it yourself some of us like to be a little spoiled in our old age.

 

I have one I'm waxing and one I built......they both drive the same......

 

I like your response, very "better man". Please don't let a shitty response to your thread stop you from posting. I for one, am watching with interest!! More pics the better. I work overtime in my daily job so I can get someone with more expertise than me do the jobs I don't know how to do or don't WANT to do on my car. Build it like you want.

 

Here are a few pics I took today of the chop. Henry took a bunch of pics along the way to show how he does a chop and he will post them on here when he gets a little free time. He took 3 3/8 inches out of the back and 3 5/8 from the front.

 

Couple more. Henry hopes to finish the chop along with the doors in the next week or so then get it set back down on the wheels and tires to see what it looks like.

Did my fresh 32 highboy pu in Satin Cement Green with Satin Black frame and Gloss Black suspension, but fell back to Satin Black on my new 5 window.

 

Stopped by Steadfast today, Henry is working along on the chop. He put some wheels and tires on it to get it on the ground to see what it looked like. Freakin awesome I say. I think I have decided to go with a black, distressed, laquer looking paint job. The windshield frame that is in there now is chrome but it will get replaced with a painted black one.

 

Man that stance is fierce! Me likey.

Great thread and that car, wow. Can' wait to see it finished, the devil that say is in the detail and there is so much of it. What I'd do to have that talent. In saying that I'd do another apprenticeship and retrain in retirement to do something I love doing.

I have been in this game a long time. I have built cars that have won awards on multiple continents.

I pay people to do work for me, that I very well could do myself, all of the time. It is not because I "have MONEY", as you claim.

Some of us have responsibilities to attend to, business to run, families, or just too much work to do alone.

Some of us know our limits.

Also, I know a lot of impossibly talented people who need to eat, too. If I can help make that happen, I'm gonna.

You don't know the man you are judging. You don't know that he has "MONEY", and if he does, how he got it, and more importantly, how he spends it is none of your damned business.

The OP liked john’s post about said spending money. I suspect they know one another and it was a dig between pals.
