Projects 32 Ford 5 window... FINISHED PICS

So YOUR car is the potential HROTY. I've seen the cryptic pics on Steadfast's Instagram, but I don't think he's let the cat out of the bag who it belonged to. Looks to sure be a winner!

 

Yes that is my car. Henry doesn't want any pics posted of it so I have only posted the pics on here of what he put on instagram. Have to say the car is turning out amazing. Should be off to the interior shop next week. I have been wanting so bad to post pics but I won't.

 

Here are some pics of the paint progress on the 5 window. Ellis and Robbie did a FANTASTIC job of bodyworking and painting the car. The chassis had all the welds sanded and smoothed before primer and paint. I think they sanded and primed and sanded and primed the body for about 3 months to get the car to the level that they were happy with. PPG concept paint was used, 3 coats of paint then the paint and clear were mixed 50/50 for the final 3 coats.

Good choice I love SHINY paint.

 

Here is a pic of the engine-trans going in the chassis. The hairpins are custom made by Henry.

This second pic is a detail shot of the rear showing a custom made filler panel between the body and the frame with a couple louvers. The tail light is recessed into the frame rail.

This is some of the most incredible work I have seen, and I've been around a long time. Just stumbled on this thread and impressed is an understatement. WOWWWW!

 

Beautiful work. The contrast between gloss & satin black makes the headlight & taillight brackets more interesting.

 

Are the wheels coated or painted? What colors where used on the center and rim? Looks great!!!

Here are some pics of the flush fit metal roof insert that was installed. So many hours of fab work went into getting the look Henry wanted. Three colors of black, shiney, flat and a satin on the beading around the insert. You can't really tell from the pics.

 

Here is a picture of the completed car. I will post more pics of the build and the finished car in the coming days.

I know what you mean but it has to be driven at some point. I put about 90 (very careful) miles on it last week. Runs, drives and handles awesome.

 

So with Columbus Goodguys canceled is there any word on how they will handle HROTY?

Columbus does Street Machine of the year and Street Rod of the year. Hot Rod of the year is selected at the show in Nashville that was rescheduled for August 28-30. If that gets canceled I guess it's wait til next year.

 

Ok I guess that makes sense. I could never understand because I know they did something at the end of the year out in Arizona or something as well. That must be all the different winners in one spot for the season?
