    Hi,

Does anyone have pictures of installing a '32 dash in a '28/'29 roadster? If you have done this did you cut and weld the 32 dash to the dash rail or bolt it behind the rail. The Bishop book shows a view of the finished product but now how they installed it. I have a stock roadster dash rail and a new 32 roadster dash from Brookville. I am looking for tips on how others have done this.

I did already thanks. Lots of threads showing installed dashes but none showing how they did it.

    Thanks,

I just welded tabs on the dash to line up with the holes. Mine went on a tudor though. dash.jpg

Buy a repop and bolt it in. Clearence to the gas tank is tight.

I just compared a stock 32 closed car dash to a 29 roadster dash rail and the curve along the top is pretty much the same. The 32 car dash is maybe 3/4 inch narrower but you could add onto the ends or use a 32 pickup dash which is about that much wider than the car dash. I am assuming the gas tank is cut out though. I don't know what a stock tank would cause to happen.

I used a repop 32 for A dash in my 28 Roadster. I felt the mounting angle looked kind of wrong, so altered the side brackets to push the bottom of dash about an inch closer to firewall. (I'm not using the A tank) .Easier to say than do, but worth the effort.
