A friend sent me these from Calif. Right out of the 50's. Anyone know this car or it's history. Most defiantly an old show rod. No it's not mine but I do have plans for one of these someday.

  10. That's sweet...no 22" rims, aftermarket stereo system or extra junk, love it!

Only hint someone has touched it are the white/clear wire zip ties by the coil.

    Sitting in my garage now.
Where did your friend get them?

  13. Damn, I had deuce envy after seeing your black '32. I had no idea this was parked in the garage next to it.

Wow, you must be livin' right to have a couple of deuces as cool as these.

    Awesome!

Have not changed anything, did the brakes, and changed the seating position slightly, that's all. The Hydro needs some adjustment, because it can't figure out what gear it wants to be in. I didn't want to do anymore for fear of ruining something.

I've contacted some Fresno area guys to no avail.

Now that my Black 5W is nearing completion after 10+ years, I may sell this.

Yes, my car, bought it from a guy in NJ about a year ago.
Read the link o the previous posts, it ran El Mirage in '48 with a flathead,
and is pictured in Mongomery's book.
The engine runs fantastic, but the Hydro needs adjustment.
The rear is an open driveshaft '48 Ford truck, with '50's GM trailing arms.
I'll probably sell it soon, as I don't want to have two 5W's. Would possibly trade it for a different body style.

Gotta leave that one alone, it would be a shame to do more than make it driveable, you don't see many old show cars it that good of shape.
