    when I removed the body from the frame (ist time off the frame) there was rubber pads where the mounting bolts go thru the frame and webbing at the rest of the frame.are they both the same thickness and do I really need the rubber pads or would the webbing do the job? this my ist 32 project please hold you laughter to a mild roar.thanks

    Yes you need them...and a lot of times you also have to shim the mounts to correct door alignment...

    used to cut them out of old tires...

    Maybe the previous builder used the rubber pads as shims. You should measure each one and keep track of those thicknesses. If you re-use that frame, it will be a good headstart on realigning the doors and such.
