Ok... I finally joined the Deuce club after finding this gennie 5 Window. Owning a Deuce coupe has been on my bucket list. After reading about the countless Deuces coming out of barns and garages after many years of storage and neglect, I was very fortunate to have my turn. The story as I know it the previous owner started the project in the early 80's, got most of the way done, lost interest, then died.

It's a very clean body with a some very non-HAMB friendly styling. It is set up for a SBC with a turbo 350. Has a 9 Inch rear and a tubular front axle. The paint and interior is very 80's retro ....

Short term plans are to put a 350/350 with 3 deuces in it, switch the wheels from the true spokes to steel wheels/bias tires. Dump the glass fenders it came with and find some steel ones. Obviously change the dash cluster to something cool as well.

I would love to chop it but ......

  5. I wouldn't chop it for now, redo the interior, find a killer gauge panel and some S-W gauges... some bigs and littles maybe a 4 speed ? nice score

Great find! It looks really straight.
I'd leave it full fendered, unchopped, reshoot the entire car black, dye the interior black, drop a SBC in it and start enjoying driving it for now (by Summer!!!)-on the tru spokes.

UN-Chopped, fenderless, steelies, blackwalls, keep the paint, burn the interior.

    RAD find!

keep the bottom half of the interior (pleats) Sits kinda high, shove an engine in and drive it. worry about the details later.

The handle at the top of the lid means it is set up for a rumble seat. :D :D

Whats wrong with the 'glass fenders, they're straight and shiny, I'd spend my money on dressing up a stout sbc and new rolling stock ( I HATE truspokes ). Nice score by the way.

  21. Awesome find!

Since you asked, I'd spray the light green areas black, dye the interior black, assemble and drive that baby!.

Oh ya, and change out the wheels.

Yeah... too small for me to sit in. I would rather not have it. I got one in my 36 roadster..... one is enough.

We all want to build Your car the way We want it :D

Must be like heaven to not have to work with rotted smashed stuff.

Replacing the glass fenders would be my last area of concern.

  29. Wow that body is in great shape. Very cool and congrats. Have a blast with it.

  30. That thing is nice !
You could almost pull off a 60's style build with that paint, at any rate I'd change wheels and interior and leave the rest. Well you's have to get it up and driving too.
