I'm reworking (replacing) the rocker panels on my 32 3w. I am using Brookville rockers, and making the inner panels. Does anyone know why the originals had oval shaped holes? I am guessing they were to allow moisture in the rockers to dry. Seems to me they may be better off closed. Any thoughts?

I've been deliberating in a similar way on my Brookville 3w coupe that will hopefully be coming apart in the not too distant future for paint etc. Finish weld the seams / seam sealer etc, or not? I'm leaning toward the position that they were never really fully weather-proof cars so water will inevitably get in, so best not hinder it getting out! I'll be using all manner of cavity wax etc to try to prevent any lasting nastiness as the water passes by! But, I also welcome any thoughts from fellow sufferers of inclement weather!
