I used the same lights on my '34. I also made one into a 3rd brake light. I know that might not be traditional, but my '47 Chevy tailghts don't show up very well at all.
I use the big stock headlights with the turn signal inside the light on my 32 5 w & on my 34 ford pick-up . I do not like hang on turn signals as it spoils the flow & the lines . Makes it appear like an after thought (like O-well lets hang them right here). On fender cars , I like turn signals in the cowl lights.
Lots of good ideas here. I too have been thinking of front turn signals for my avatar pictured 3-window. The front end is so clean and adding any lights is going to take away from the look. I don't want to modify the attractive BLC headlights. Considering cowl lights painted black to match the body color. But, this would require holes in the body. Also thinking about those small round lights that fit into pickup bed rails. They are small and would not be too visible until lit up. Turn signals were fitted to the rear and incorporated into the 50s Pontiac round lights.
I used these small lights off EBay on my 32 Tudor, as they came closest to matching the shape of my BLC 682-J’s. They come flat black with smoked or clear lenses. Painted to match your frame color, they would be less noticeable.
We have the little pommy side markers with an amber bulb down low on the frame rail, and in the rear we simply use LED 32 lights with the appropriate turn signal unit to cancel tail lights ,bright as so everyone says. The front turns also have the appropriate dot numbers ,if you care. Down under i dont believe a new build can use turn signals in the headlight now ,though its the perfect place for them.
Bob Drake sells a cowl light with a two filament 12-volt bulb for parking and turn. May go this way and paint the lights to match the body.
Decided to go with some accessory turn-run lights from Harley Davidson. Did not want to drill holes in the body for the cowl lights. I'll post photo when job is done.
