I was actually kind of intimidated at first but it's very simple once you look at it and lay it all out. It basically just all fell together.

So glad you haven't forgotten your truck. It is up there on my list of builds I'm waiting to see come together.

I just noticed your reversed firewall. How much room did you loose inside.? Will it be comfortable to sit in/drive? I have been contemplating doing this to mine. I plan a 4" chop & no channel. I'm 5'8" & its kinda tight inside as it is. Bill

I'd say just a couple inches. I think it'll be comfortable. I positioned my seat to where its mostly strait up and down which to me is OK. I'm 5'10" and I think it's going to be OK but I don't have all of my floor or pedals in yet.

So after getting back from GNRS a couple weeks ago I've had a lot of motivation for getting this thing done! Been working on it a lot and ordering a bunch of parts for it. Trying to find a radiator that will work. Hopefully I can order one soon. Drag link is on order. Trying to figure out my gas pedal right now. I bought an original 32 pedal but I don't think it'll work.

Windshield is functional as of tonight. Its a little off only on one side and I'm not sure why.

Rolled the truck outside today to see what its looking like. Had the bed up a little high. I lowered it down a couple inches and it looks a ton better! I think Im going to leave it stock length as well. Just a few more things to do and buy before I take it apart for body work.

Truck looks great, really happy to see this coming together. Being un-channeled, I agree that the bed looks better lower. The top of my bed is roughly aligned with the bead on the cab, but the cab is channeled 4". Keep up the good work.

I have a 31 CC pickup that was a 60 dragster and they Chopped it ( with an Axe) way back when.
I got it in pieces and mocked up putting together. The Drivers Side door is chopped 1.75 inches shorter than rest of truck !! I'm having a terrible time trying to stretch the top of that door 1.75 inches.
Does anybody have some of the pieces they chopped from a drivers door I can get ( 2 or 3 inches)
I know story of my life 3 inches to short !
Or a driver door to buy.
    thanks

I did a pretty bad job documenting the rear shocks. Here are the pictures I dug up:

Got my engine back from the machine shop. Its a pretty built up little flatty! Its 286ci got a merc crank, Elgin pistons, adjustable lifters, stainless valves, GranCor cam, ported and polished and it even had a windage tray on the oil pump. I didn't need to replace any of the bearings. The only thing we did was put new rings in it and rebuild the oil pump because everything else was like brand new. I'll have it dyno'd in a couple weeks just to see what it does.

That should be pretty cool! Really can't beat these engines...

Got almost everything done on the engine. Just waiting for my plug wires to get here and gotta get my generator rebuilt. The one that was on the engine was totally shot. I also started to disassemble the chassis for paint while the bed and cab are being sand blasted. What do you guys use to paint your chassis parts with? I want something with like 70-80% shine.
