Late to the party here, but I finally got to see Miss Vicky at Jalopyrama. Good to catch up again Dave. For anyone who hasn't seen Dave's car in person, it is one fine machine. His repairs shown above were undetectable, nice job to keep an un-trailered, HARD driven hot rod in pristine condition!

  7. @travisfromkansas (AKA Roy Boy Productions) stopped by a month or so ago to take a few photos for his 48 Cars in 48 States project. He traveled to every state in the lower 48 to photograph a single car in each one. The photos, his notes and observations from the road will be documented in a book he's publishing about the journey. If you're interested, you can pre-order the book here: http://www.royboyproductions.com/shop/48-cars-in-48-states/48-cars-48-states-individual-support-packages/

Anyway, I am honored to have Miss Vicky represent the Commonwealth of Virginia in what will surely be a great compilation of very fine hot rods and customs. Here are a few outtakes from the shoot:

When you say "hand buffed" does that mean you did not use an orbital buffer?

  12. Yes, that's what I mean. I used progressively finer wet sand paper up to 1500 or 2000 grit (I don't remember exactly) on a pretty small soft rubber block, and then used buffing compound on a clean cotton rag and rubbed by hand. Power tools would have been too aggressive. You've gotta sneak up on the shine.

  14. Yup, I assume the pic you posted was taken in Oregon? This one was shot in my driveway in Richmond VA. Travis and his Galaxy are true road warriors. @El Hueso @travisfromkansas

A web search for Andy Kassa's famous coupe netted two birds with one stone!
    Good company!

  22. I've started getting Miss Vicky ready for the Congregation Show in Charlotte on April 14. One of the projects I've been putting off is replacing the noisy electric fuel pump. Since the hemi installation, I've run a Carter – I was told it was the "quiet" one, but if that's true, I'd hate to hear the one that's not quiet. It's super loud [annoying] inside the car. About a year ago my pal Russ, @Cabbage suggested I try a screw-type fuel pump because they're a lot quieter , so I bought one and I finally installed it today. I'm pleased to report that it's substantially quieter – you can barely hear it with the key on before I start the engine, and you can't hear it at all with the motor idling. Here are the before and after pics:

  23. What's the specs or numbers on the new quite screw pump Dave ?
