That thing is insane. I am getting excited about testing the car. I still have a bunch to do, but I think I'll make Salina OK.

I have no idea what numbers this thing might run. I don't really care. I just want to do some heads-up racing with my buds. If I get my ass handed to me, then I will have had a blast doing it. I am making good progress every day now, and I can't wait to shake her down. I just hope it's not 100 degrees at Salina. That shit is hard on a fat guy.

Front brakes and suspension are done. Interior panel that serves as a seat back, package tray, and battery box access is welded in. I put her back on wheels and tires to check her out in her new black outfit. Slimming, huh?
Gotta fab the steering and master cylinder mounts and a fuel tank. Getting real close to being ready for wiring and plumbing. Making a short list of things that HAVE to be done to race it. The other list is stuff that has to be done eventually. The racing list is getting shorter. I can't wait to hear this thing fire up through those zoomies.

Here are some views from under the car. Nothing too exciting. Just thought some of you might like to see how it's built.

Making progress. Mounted the rear brakes and the combination steering box and master cylinder assembly. I have all of the parts in house to run the brake lines. The seats are being sewn up. I am chopping the windshield tomorrow so I can get some glass cut. Gotta keep bustin' it if I'm gonna make Salina.

My upholstery guy built these for me in two days. I ran the brake lines today.

I'm a goof. I have a gazillion dollars worth of fabricating equipment, but I am all fired up over the old lathe that I got for a few hunskies. I tested it out, (and my rusty machinist skills), by building my steering column shaft. Sometimes you just need a lathe, and I can't believe I have had a shop for 18 years without having one. Now I want a knee mill.

About to get this pig rolling. I am all but done with the brakes, and I am finishing up the steering. The fuel tank will be mounted tomorrow, and I will be wiring this week. My goal now is to fire it up by next weekend.

Mounted the Moon tank with brackets I fabbed out of .190 alum. Made new (shorter) pitman arm pieces. Getting REALLY anxious to fire this muthu up.

Big day today. Started the motor because I couldn't wait to hear what the zoomies sounded like. Nice.

Brakes are bled, wiring is done, steering is functional. I plan to install the shifter and the throttle assembly tomorrow. If all goes well, I can drive it. Then it's finish up some safety and sheet metal issues and get ready for 103 degrees at Salina. Yuck.

Drove it yesterday and today. Not too many bugs to work out, but I still have a buttload to do to make Salina.

MAM, yes, the steering wheel has a 10" section of column with a quick-release coupler on the end. I have tons of room to get in, and it feels cool riding in the back seat.
