i've never tried it , but i'm sure `37 Ford sedan trunk hinges could be used. while i would use the humpback ones...flatback should work too
I have 49 nash on my coupe My Buddy has 37 ford sedan on his: You will need to either make a wedge to make them open straight, or grind down one side of the hinges a hair.
i use doorhinges from that little british austin mini cooper. they have an little angle so i milled it straight..!you can buy them aftermarket, maybe in chrome..
Coupes need the hinges that have one really short side so it fits the narrow panel behind the roof. My Roadster had externals and with the fuel filler located between them and I thought it was getting too "busy" so I wanted to "clean up" the clutter aand removed them when I got a better lid . I made a lot of changes since those days but I wished I had retained the external hinges because they were unique!
Im going to use TR3 off of a 1960 triumph that i got on evil bay and they are very small so I hope they will work.
